My work straddles folk-horror, the gothic, magical realism and dark-comedy, always textured with a strong visual and physical world.
I write high-concept stories grounded in region and socio-politics, ranging from duologues for women to ensemble pieces for 17-18 year olds. Across both stage and screen, my writing engages with power, identity and connection.
“Madeleine’s writing is distinguished by its hybrid sensibilities – blending uncanny folk-horror impulses with humanistic depth, political edge, and allegorical richness.”
