A psychosexual epic straddling two storylines in the Scottish Highlands: a gifted deerstalker as she tracks her elaphine lover, and a military nurse’s sexual obsession with her virgin patient.
Slipping between men and deer, the wilderness and the barracks, ‘STAG’ prods at the discomfort of heterosexual power dynamics and the shamefulness of desire.
An extract of ‘STAG’ was performed in the Weston Studio as part of Bristol Old Vic Theatre School’s New Writing Festival in 2023. In July 2024 the script underwent an R&D supported by Bristol Old Vic, and was submitted for the George Devine Award by the theatre.
