Local lads Finlay and Ciaran are working the last ferry to the Isle of Bute. Passengers things have been disappearing in transit for weeks, and a year ago today, an entire passenger disappeared.
While the men distract themselves with shallow aspirations and unnerving local stories, a young Selkie has made her way on board – and she is looking for a husband.
With humour and startling revelations, The Selkie blends folklore with the timely frustrations of modern rural life and contemporary masculinity.
